Island of Lošinj

The Island of Lošinj, situated in the North of Adriatic Sea, is a part of Cres-Lošinj archipelago. The island has a lot of beautiful bays and beaches and is surrounded by islands of Ilovik, Susak, Unije, Vele and Male Srakane.  The highest hill of the island is Osoršćica (588 m) and of the island of Cres is Sis (650 m). On the island of Cres there is a lake Vrana, a natural phenomenon, from which the entire archipelago has fresh drinking water. Because of our mild and very healthy climate and with more than 260 sunny days per year, our island was a winter resort of the Austrian royal family Habsburg. In the winter period there are 4-5 hours of sunshine a day and the people can stay outside, walk in the pine wood or near the sea. Mali Lošinj is the capital of the island and is situated in the beautiful harbor with a lot of boats.
